From next week Ahmedabad-New Delhi Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express will have a two minute halt at Sabarmati railway station.
This would benefit passengers of the western part of the city as they will not to have travel all the way from Kalupur.
Kirit Solanki, BJP MP from Ahmedabad (West) had made several representations to the Railway ministry for providing stoppage. He said that this would help save a lot of time of passengers from western part. Sabarmati is near to 132 ft Ring Road and closer to proposed metro station.
The railways has issued a notification for stoppage of train in both the directions from September 20. Train no.12957 Swarn Jayanti Express leaves Ahmedabad daily at 5.45 pm and reaches New Delhi the next day at 7.30 am. While train no. 12958 leaves New Delhi at 7.55 pm and reaches here at 9.35 am next day.
