| Gujarat Global News Network, Ahmedabad Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation today withdrew the suspension of 28 resident doctors who had molested nurses of V S Hospital during holi festivities on March 11. In a statement issued by the Corporation, Dy MC Dilip Mahajan said that the suspension of all the 28 resident doctors was withdrawn with immediate effect. He said, however, the doctors will not be paid any stipend for the 42 day suspension period. Of these three doctors were awarded major penalty. In the case of these doctors, they have been fined Rs 10,000 each and they will have to give an undertaking in writing they would not indulge in such an activity in future. The AMC had taken action against these doctors on the basis of report of a committee which had found the doctors guilty of molesting nurses. In this case a group of doctors led by three doctors barged into the gynecology unit of the hospital and misbehaved with the nurses on duty. The doctors were drunk. As per the decision of penal action, three doctors have been suspended for one year and 25 for three months. Those who have been suspended for one year were Dr. Jaydutt Tekani of medical unit, Dr. Prakash Patel of Surgical and Rajesh Punhari of pediatric unit. These three doctors had masterminded operation molestation in the name of holi revelry. The penal action was decided by a committee comprising Municipal Commissioner, Dy Municipal Commissioner Health, Dean of the N H L Municipal Medical College, Superintendents of V S and L G Hospitals and principal of nursing college. |
