Gujarat Global News Network, Gandhinagar The three day annual “Ranotsav” in Kutch, the border area of Gujarat will begin from December 1. More than 400 tourists from 20 countries besides 200 from India will attend the colourful programme where arts and culture of this desert area come alive.The festival is gaining popularity with number of tourists increasing every year. this year ambassadors of about a dozen countries including China, Mexico and Spain would attend the festival. To showcase the rich heritage and culture of Kutch the government has decided to set up a “heritage village” in the district. This would be set up with the help of locals who would present their crafts, State Tourism Minister Jaynarayan Vyas said. On the first day Kutch Carnival will be flagged off by Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Folk dances and various programmes depicting the Kutchi culture would be part of the carnival. Special tent city has been set up for tourists near Ghordo village. The tents with five star facilities are a major attraction during the festival. On December 2 the tourists would be taken to “Kalo Dungar” and other places. They will be given a camel ride on the full moon day on dec.2 when a cultural programme has also been organized. On the third day the tourists would be taken to Mandvi beach, Dholavira and Indo-Pak border.
