Gujarat Global News Network, Ahmedabad From today, people will have to pay a minimum of Rs nine for traveling in autorikshaw. This follows a government decision to concede to the demand for increase in auto fares.
The minimum fare has been increased from Rs seven to nine. Fares have been increased after five years. Besides minimum fare, there is also increase in per kilometer rate after minimum slab of 1.5 kilometer. Now it is Rs six instead of Rs five. Demand for increase in auto fare was pending for long. Now, fare for every five kilometer will be Rs 33 against the present fare of Rs 25. The issue of increase in fare was under discussion after strike by autorickshaw operators two months back.
