Nokia has finally launched the much awaited 808 Pureview camera phone in India. The reason to mention camera phone is because it boasts of a 41 MP camera.  The 808 Pureview will be sold at a Best Buy price of Rs 33,899.

The phone runs on Symbian Belle OS and has a 4-inch wide AMOLED Display and runs on. It features Nokia’s award-winning Pureview technology and Carl Zeiss optics. Nokia in a tie-up with Dolby Laboratories has introduced a rich cinematic sound output in 808 Pureview which features both Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Headphones technology.

The Pureview 808 has two microphones that capture a near perfect sound recording to make the videos with rich CD-like audio recording enabled by Nokia Rich Recording, earlier only possible with external microphones. Pureview also has full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom.

The single core 1.3Ghz microprocessor is a bit of let down considering the imaging function of the phone but folks at Nokia argue that the phone has another processor dedicated to the camera function, thus ensuring a reasonably good performance.

It has a 16GB internal storage, 512 MB RAM and expendable up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Pureview 808 comes only in two colours, black and white.
