Police today arrested Pradeep Sharma, Gujarat cadre IAS, from Delhi. Gujarat government has slapped three cases against Pradeep Sharma. He was suspended earlier for his alleged involvement in corruption in land allotment during 2003-06.
Pradeep Sharma was first arrested in January and was suspended. He was Bhavnagar Municipal Commissioner at that time. He was charged with allotting land to entitled for earthquake victims without following norms.
One after another three cases have been registered against him. All relate to his tenure as Collector of Kutch district. Pradeep Sharma is brother of Kuldip Sharma senior IPS officer of Gujarat cadre who has been dumped as MD of Gujarat Sheep and Wool Corporation.
Pradeep Sharma was arrested by Gujarat police in Delhi. A Bhuj court had rejected anticipatory bail petition of Pradeep Sharma on February 9. One of the cases against him is relating to a private party footing his mobile bill.
