Gujarat Global News Network, Ahmedabad Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today claimed that India has not progressed in the last 60 years because of the vote bank politics. As a result there is atmosphere of gloom and depression in the country. He suggested that country should adopt politics of development and involve people if it has to develop. He was speaking on the concluding day of three day of his Sadbhavna Mission here. Presenting Gujarat as a model of development through people participation, Modi said Rashtraniti should be above Rajniti in the development model of the country. Modi claimed that the economics of development in the country was based on vote bank politics. Justifying the three day fast in a public place, Modi said that it was to present the development model of Gujarat before the world. Even 50 press conferences could not have done the job the three day Sadbhavna Mission did, Modi said. Modi announced that he would have one day Sadbhavna mission in each district of Gujarat as fast was a morale booster for the noble cause of development. He will announce the programme later. Modi’s mission has aroused very sharp reactions at national level and most of people have described it as his gimmick to put him in the race of Prime Minister’s office. Even some of his supporters during these three days said that he was a suitable Prime Minister candidate. However, Modi avoided this, but his speech amply made it clear that the target audience of his speech was beyond the geographical territory of six crore Gujaratis to India of 120 crore plus. Modi said that in a recently published report World Bank has described the development of Agriculture by Gujarat as a model for the entire world. He said that all this was possible because of sustained efforts during the last ten years. He further claimed that people participation made it possible. Scarcity prone Gujarat has now become a model of development of agriculture. Modi said that Governments alone could not develop a state or society. Join the strength of people and there will be a great impetus to the efforts. He suggested same model for the development of India. He described his formula saying “sabka saath, sabka vikaas”. Referring to the visit of Sacchar Commission, he said that he told the Commission candidly that his government was not doing anything special for minority. In the same breath, he said, he also said that it was not doing anything for majority either. My government is doing everything for its people, he said. Modi said that India has great youth power. We take pride in this, but we have not used this youth power. We must tap this great potential, he said. He said that we should make development a movement then only our development will be full. He said that we should be positive, not negative. Referring to his programme of Sadbhavna mission in every district, he said that every person in 18,000 villages will be turned into game changer. During three days leaders of BJP and its allies except JDU joined his chorus of development from the platform of the Sadbhavna Mission. A large number of people also used thgis opportunity to blast Modi’s claims as false and farcical saying that all this was to distract attention to people from the charges of corruption.
