Vikram Sarabhai Award to Prof Yash Pal and MM Sharma

Prof Yash Pal and scientist Man Mohan Sharma have been selected for the Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Senior Scientist Award of the PRL. Banibrata Mukhopadhyay of Indian Institute of Science has been chosen for Buti Foundation Award. These scientists will be presented these Awards at a function to be held at PRL on November 11.

Senior Scientist Award is given to Indian scientists for their outstanding contribution to science and technology. The recipient is bestowed with a silver plate, citation and cash prize of Rs two lakh. For this Award, an endowment fund was created by Hari Om Ashram Trust which is administered by PRL.

Buti Foundation Award is given to young scientist below 45 years for innovative and outstanding research work in India in the field of Plasma science and technology. The award carries a citation, a silver medal and cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Mukhopadhyay will deliver a lecture on “ Black Hole’s Turbulent Brew” while Sharma will speak on “ “The exciting and rewarding world of Chemical Engineering”.
