Tatkal tickets to become more costelier

Ministry of Railways has decided to increase Tatkal charges from 25th December.

Accordingly, passengers travelling in executive class will now have to pay maximum Rs.500 instead of the present Rs.400. The minimum fare has also been increased from Rs.300 to Rs.400 with a minimum distance of 250 kms.

For AC 2 tier the minimum tatkal charges have been increased from Rs.300 to Rs.400 and maximum has been raised from Rs.400 to Rs. 500. The minimum distance is 500 kms.

For AC 3 tier the minimum tatkal charges have been increased from Rs.250 to Rs.300 and maximum has been raised from Rs.350 to Rs. 400. The minimum distance is 500 kms. For AC chair car the minimum tatkal charges have been increased from Rs.100 to Rs.125 and maximum has been raised from Rs.200 to Rs.225. The minimum distance is 250 kms.

For sleeper class the minimum tatkal charges have been increased from Rs.90 to Rs.100 and maximum has been raised from Rs.175 to Rs. 200. The minimum distance is 500 kms. For reserved second class sitting there is no change tatkal fare.

There will be no distance restrictions for tatkal scheme in passenger trains. In case the total run of the train is less than the distance restriction, the end to end fare i.e from orginating to destination station shall be charged.
